Sharp is launching fully frameless/bezeless smartphones on July 17th

Have you ever heard about a smartphone called Sharp Aqua Crystal? If not, please do a Google search because it’s the world’s first frameless/bezeless smartphone which was introduced in 2014. Sharp Aqua Crystal and the successor Sharp Aqua Crystal 2 was released one year after the original had no frames except the bottom small chin. To overcome some technical difficulties Sharp had put the front camera the other sensors at the bottom, for the ear piece they have replaced the ordinary technology with a new thing called “cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology” which uses the smartphone body to make audio waves, which was extraordinary at that time. But two years after the Chinese vendor Xiaomi had introduced a smartphone called “Mi Mix” which had the same technology, but more polished and more stable than the sharp models, but Mi Mix was also had that small chin at the bottom for the camera and for the sensors. Now we are in 2017, frameless/bezels screens with bottom chin smartphones are so common among Android OS so now it’s time for a new update.

You may have known that Apple has recently celebrated the iPhone’s tenth anniversary, so for this special year, Apple is coming up with a new iPhone which is fully frameless/bezeless according to rumors. Fully frameless/bezeless means its front 95-98% is covered by its display, it does not have a chin, no home button and the fingerprint reader will be integrated to the front screen. Pretty impressive right, yeah! But the problem is Apple has another 3 months of time for the launch, so before that another Android vendor has decided to come out with that same technology and design and they are launching it 17th of July 2017.

Yes! Sharp has decided to come up with another jaw dropping design, but this time, unlike the Aqua Crystal these two devices have almost zero bezels. Sharp calls it FS8016 and FS8010, both come in 5.5inchs with the resolution of 2048 x 1080p and they have dual cameras at the back, one is 12 mega pixels and the other one is 8 mega pixels. Processor wise the high-end device will be powered by Snapdragon 660 and the other version will be powered by Snapdragon 330 and the RAM will be 4GB and 6GB respectively. To achieve this kind of a design, Sharp must adapt advanced technologies like ultrasonic proximity sensor, ultrasonic fingerprint reader (if the fingerprint scanner at the front) and many more.
